yes what is the current route to take? lets all agree on something. im not from the area so I cant really suggest much although I did enjoy angles crest and would not mind doing that again by the same token something new is also of interest. either way for me. im easy lol

Murals started it and he wanted ACH, you know me im easy and live pretty close to all the rides so wherever. i hit up ACH again yesterday with my brother and was great again. Did 140 miles on the cruiser on sat and then another 60 or 70 on the FZ6R on sunday. Was a great weekend!

I have clip-ons as well and don't find the forward lean painful at all and I have back and neck issues as well. I actually feel better slightly leaned then upright. It's not that much different from stock. If my back was really inflamed any position on bike might be too much. I'm going to see a new chiropractor this week in fact. Been a while since I went and it did make things a little better.

Everyone has different back issues i guess, mine feels better or less stress when im sitting more straight up than leaning over. I think the new seat helps the back too, certainly is helping the rest.

Riding my new cruiser on sat 140 miles i discovered that with the mustangs on there my rear hurt about zero. I do need to put some risers on it to bring the bars back to me a bit more though.

Actually I was looking on google maps at what I thought ACH was and I was thinking of Little Tujunga Canyon I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong but is this the ACH route you guys think of?

These are routes I was thinking we could take. Sand Canyon to Little Tujunga to Big Tujunga to ACH

This is also another good route around here. Bouquet canyon is one of my favorite to ride but it's a little further away from the heart of ACH and would be a shorter ride if we went this way. Bouquet Canyon to Lake Elizabeth Rd to Lake Hughes Rd

Like Tony said I am easy going as well. Will go anywhere as long as there is solid pavement and good weather :) Throw your suggestions of routes out there guys and we'll all agree on something!

I say you all come down south and hit up Palomar Mtn with me... I'm up for the challenge if you all are.

Motorcycle Roads (CA): Palomar Mountain South Grade (S6)

This is a better looking site... http://lateralg.org/roads/sandiego/1.htm

There is only one ACH, Angeles Crest highway which is the 2 and on the first picture you see. To get all the way across to the 138 would take about the whole day though, including the ride back. I like turning off onto the other roads though, less traffic and less cops. Last time we turned off at upper big Tujunga and took that down to Angeles Forest and then to lower Tujunga and out that way, im not sure how long that acutally was, maybe 1.5 hours. The lake hughes I have only taken back towards sunland, we should do that up to the actual lake area with JT as all three of us are pretty close to that. The sand canyon I have done too, its not as nice as ACH. The one where your starting over and the 14 and going way east would also take forever.

Ah I see. Well seeing as I've never been on ACH then, I'll leave it to you tony if you want to pick what route you think is best, least traffic, most fun:) I'm down to meet up in SD with you duckman if everyone else is but like JT said thats a hell of a trip for us out here:p

Some one missed me... Lol.... Ya I've been grounded.... My back pain has been keeping me off the bike....

Knightmare, I don't know what kind of back pain you have, but I occasionally get lower back pain. My wife came home with this little pillow. It's a vibrating/heating Shiatsu massage pillow with knobs that move around and dig into you. I scoffed. I thought this little piece of crap isn't going to do... and then... The HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF MUUUUUSIIIIIIC!!! Oh man, I love this thing. I almost bought it a Valentine's present.

No kidding why stop in SD

Hey, I rode the whole way to LA w/no wallet and 20 bones on hand and still had a bomb time on Mulholland Dr. Not saying to do Palomar this time, but next time I expect some commitment from the 6'er group. I think we'll all get a crap load of experience hitting Palomar up as well as the sights since the Observatory is there.

i would like to do San Diego / palomar, even mexico sometime. Maybe in the summer where such a long day will be easier, and warmer to tollerate.

As for Route those are all good ideas Murals i didnt meant to really shoot any down just explain the issues with each, we need to do something similar to our last run where we get off of ACH for a while onto some other roads and can speed up but we need to increase the length, last ride was too short.

ITS SUPPOSED TO BE 80% chance of rain this weekend.... what the hell am i going to do all weekend if i cant go out and ride? i think this is the first weekend in quite some time im not planning a ride.

Same here, while my 6'er is in the shop I put the Harley away due to the upcoming weather. They said it would rain starting Wednesday thru the rest of the weekend. Not that I wouldn't ride in the rain anyways, I've been caught in a storm getting out of work due to crappy weather predictions.

i have never been caught in anything but the most slight drizzle, and id like to keep it that way :)
actually i think the ride we went on was the most rain my bike has seen.
Looks like although it will be cold the rain will stop on Sunday so maybe i can still get out :D

Here is an overall map of the area, blue meaning there is a real road there, vs a fire road or some other thing that hasnt been paved since the 20's. The problem i see is that there are not really any offshoots that lead you back down so i suggest we just do the same thing we did last time except go past tujunga, stop and newcombs ranch then just keep going until we feel like turning around. Then on the way back down we can split off to Tujunga.
