This probably sounds crazy, but I don't even have a YouTube account to comment with.

For the amount you lost, it's probably worth a small-claims suit.

Simple and factual:

They took your money three days before closing down.
They provided no notice that you needed to remove your personal items.
They discarded your personal items without attempting to contact you and providing you an opportunity to retrieve them.

The sale of a membership at a facility that was on the verge of closing was fraud.
The failure to allow you to retrieve the personal items that had been entrusted to them was theft.
 
Take off the comment approval, that scares off commenters.

You should have gotten in front of the camera and said "HULK MAD, HULK SMASH" and thrown a brick through the window.

LOL, yeah with your shirt off or torn and covered in green body paint, that would definately help your video go viral!
 
Done! Those gyms are all the same. They don't make $$$ and the only way on making some is to screw people off. LA Fitness did the same to me when I cancel. I forgot my debit card inside a ATM once. I figure out the next day, so no biggie. My bank issue me another card within few days.

The next month LA Fitness call me saying the payment didn't when true. So I ask what's the CC#... explain that it was an error and I had a new card with a new number. Everything was all nice on the phone. Few day later I find out they charge me $5.00 NSF fee (x2=$10) I call back and the manager was all pissy at me about this is it, company policy. So I told her my policy when I get screw is to tell you to go F urself! I cancel both gym membership online right away! 6 months later... i was furious when I found out and call them screaming out of my lung!!! He cancel my membership over the phone... been ok afterward.

I recently got an email about a class action against LA Fitness. I guess they piss off the wrong guy that time.
 
And this is why I don't go to the gym. :popcorn:

NP, and yeah the forum is a good 16 years old now and I've been the owner of the site for the last 10 years.
 
Attorney took the case. Looks like Gold's Gym broke several laws by taking my cash & closing within 3 Business days since you have 3 business days to cancel a contract here. They are also responsible for all of my items in my locker as they did not give me notice to vacate said locker. Fortunately, I have the "Proof" that is needed for a case in form of a recorded conversation which is admissible here as this is a one party state & I was the one party..


Membership dues, Items in locker or cash equivalent, Attorney fee's, emotional distress for having to switch gyms & having to buy new gear ie belts, gloves, shoes, ect...


The law is the law....

Golds had their chance. I called & went to another Golds owned by the same person & simply requested that they return my membership fee's which I paid in cash, return my items or give me the cash equivalent. But now after all the phone calls, distress, irrevocable harm, ect now it looks like it is gonna have to cost them to make things right.. It's ashame they chose to go this route. It will probably be some time before resolved but I am willing to go the distance on this one.


Stay tuned as demand letter has been sent.... Local reporters who have seen my you tube video have attempted to contact me but at this point it's in attorney hands.... Again, it's a shame Golds chose this path...

yeah, nice job dude, get those asses for all their inconsiderate actions. I'm sure this could easily be made a bit of a class action for all the other members of the gym that lost items in their lockers.

They deserve to get jacked up hard.
