Installing ZX6R mirrors

Hi, I just picked up a set of ZX6R mirrors and was wondering if I can install them directly to the fairings or should I put a piece of rubber between the mirror and fairing. I've seen where others have used the original rubber boot with these mirrors, I just think I'd like the look of them better bolted directly to the fairing. I appreciate any advice you can give me.

I have been curious to see some pictures of what the look like mounted on the FZ6R. Can someone post some pictures and about how much are they?

If someone doesn't get some posted soon I will go get a few pics of my Carbon Fiber ZX-6R Mirrors. The year range that fits I believe is 05-08. There may be others though. I didn't use the rubber boot, because I didn't like the way it looked. Others here have used the rubber boot.

Scott, if you don't mind me asking, did you put a piece of rubber between the mirror and fairing or did you just mount the mirror directly to the fairing? The reason I ask is that I remember reading somewhere that without a rubber "gasket" in between, the mirrors tended to vibrate alot. I definitely do not want to use that stock rubber boot. Thanks

No, no rubber, but you can put one under if you have some laying around. Probably not a bad idea. Hasn't been a problem.

Just got mine on. I'll take some pics later tonight. There's a rubber piece on the inside of the fairing. Cranked it down as much as I felt comfortable but still vibrates a bit at speed. You can tell something is behind you, but you can't tell what kind of car or bike. They really suck compared to the stock mirrors.

However, they work and I'm a bit vain, so I'm going to learn to love them
