considering trading in

Not to sound like a D***, but weren't you having financial/school problems before. I hope you've straightened them out since then.

GL with the buy! Looks like an awesome buy.

Well I got the deal back...I'd walk away free and clear. It's a wash to trade bikes but the wife got me some stuff for my bike for my birthday and she's really against me doing it so yeah....idk

Yeah, she probably gets a big say in it. Plus, think about the mods you probably will want to do to the new bike. You probably won't have such a wash of a deal unless you are content with leaving the Aprilia stock.

When you say "wash", do you mean a straight out trade and your loan staying the same? Or do you mean your payments will stay the same, but you'll add more years to the loan?

The breakdown of the numbers on the 2007 Tuono is
$6999.00 Tuono
-$2800.00 Trade S40
-$4200.00 Trade YZF6

Or for 1k more I can do the 2009, both are brand new.... Payments would be the same for 48 months

hold on........ you owe on your bike????? Pay it off. Second, you got booted from school?LOL....... How why, huh?

Seroiusly, don't go making payments for toys. I am 37, I own both my bikes out right, own my three cars, and will have my house paid off in 6 years....

I can only suggest you pay off what you have... then make the payments to yourself, when you want the new bike, car, need a baby this or that, it's there.

I love the Aprilias, I would jump on it, but I would do it cash. ..... They don't on the other hand loose resale that fast.

I have the cash I'm just buying a house right now as well which is more important to me.

As for school yeah...I didnt pass a class the second time around.

Josh...please just chill on the buying for now. You don't see it, but you could be really over extending yourself. You are 23, and you have your awesome toy (FZ6R) that you just got done spending a shit ton of money on, and you're buying a house, and you're relatively new in your new job...just Pay Off Your Bike with your cash you have and save over the winter. That 07 or 09 bike will still be there in the spring, and you will have the 6R for trade in purposes. The good thing about paying off the bike before winter??? You dont have a payment while youre not using the thing!

Okay, enough advice from me  Just my 2 cents on the matter, as that is what I would do, personally. All up to you though man :welcome:

A Tuono is a great bike. It is obviously Italian so you'll get the issues that come with that, but what a great ride.

As stated earlier, AF1 Racing is your best friend, they are also the largest Ape dealer in North America, perhaps the Americas. They are one of the best motorcycle shops in the US period. I've worked with them tuning four different bikes and developing a custom ECU tune for my FZ1. These guys know their stuff and know Apes unlike anyone else.

Give Ed a call, he can fill you in on all of the specifics of the Tuono deal. Shipping is about $500.

Honestly, if your buying a house I wouldn't fool with trading bikes. I myself would pay the bike off before I got the house.

You make decent money (or at least i'm guessing you do), but you don't have to spend everything you make as soon as you make it.

Honestly, think a little smarter financially. I'm basically in the same boat as you (As far as age, etc etc) I make really great money, i'm only 21, and when I first started working here a little over a year ago I was spending everything I made because I wasn't use to having money, and it burned a hole in my pocket. So even though I was making 1000$ a week I was still going paycheck to paycheck. It was irresponsible and I now know that. Anyway after about 2 months of that I realized I needed to save. So I saved, now I own everything I have. Which in the end is 20 times better IMO. Ecspecially since now i'm also in the process of buying a house and I can poor all my money into the house instead of paying on car/bike notes.

Take everyone here's advice man, pay off the toy, get a house, live happily

Guys... I agree with the financial advice, but y'all need to read his posts first. He isn't putting any cash towards the trade or extending the loan. He is actually gaining due to lower insurance. If he wants to swap out to a different bike and has this kind of opportunity, then why not?

If I could trade my SUV in for a BMW X3 and come out clean... I'd do it on the spot.

Don't F*ck with the italians

Ya if it's even, there is no reason not to. But he is trading in 2 bikes, not 1 so it's not even at all. But, if he has no use for the second bike and doesn't want to sell it for a little pocket cash, then he might as well use it for the upgrade.

CC, if you live around some great roads and have time to dedicate to them and love the sport, I think this would be a great bike to have.

My 2 cents - sell the s40 for $2800. Pay down your loan so you only have $1000 left. Pay that remaining grand off as soon as you can. Put everything you've got towards a house.

It's not about what you make, it's about what you keep. Taxes and interest suck. You should always try to avoid both. A house appreciates in value over time. You can't go wrong long term unless you make a bad purchase. Luxury items should always be bought with extra cash on hand.

You've got a nice bike that you've put a lot into, you love it, and part of it was a gift from a loved one. You've got another bike that represents available cash, that you need. If you start making smart financial decisions now, there will come a time that you'll look at what you have and be thankful you stopped being careless with your money at a young age. You need to start making your money grow, not shrink.

But even with having the same payment per month, and same financed amount, who sits with a stock bike and does not buy any mods for it lol? You know CC and he loves to mod the bike, personalize it, and get the matching gear!! Haha, I would do the same thing (and have) with my new bike. Just means more money goes out the door....Plus, it sits over the whole winter in Minnesota and won't be ridden.
Like I said earlier, pay it off with cash or sell the second bike to pay some toward the FZ6R payment, and trade the Fizzer in the spring if you like? From my point of view, that is the better plan ;)

I wouldn't have said that if the Rangers won the Series.
