This thread definitely got my attention. I am looking for a little more sound w/o spending a few hundred dollars or having to weld a bigger outlet. Heading out to the garage w/ my flashlight now.... haha

This thread started last July. I'd be interested to hear from those folks that have been running this mod for several months. Still happy with no issues?

I may do it, but not until my warranty's up.

here are before and after vids. I think the camera got more engine noise than exhaust noise though. I'll have to ride it to see if I can tell a difference...couldn't in the garage.[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X163V5V67u8]YouTube - ‪5MIN exhaust mod.wmv‬‏[/ame]

I've been wanting to do the stock mod exhaust mod for awhile (since Joloy did it) but just haven't been able to get myself to that point to do that to the exhaust when the bikes been running great. BUT, I finally broke down and did this mod last night. I have a new tip I could weld on, but I haven't gotten there yet either. :)

I first used the largest drill bit I had (which I think was about a 1/2 inch) and drilled a hole right where the pipe starts to curve down. I then tried other tools I had to make the hole bigger, because 1/2 inch didn't really change the sound much, if at all. I then took a 1/2 inch (inner diameter) galvanized piece of pipe and tapped that in until it made the hole the same size. It was almost 10pm, so I really couldn't play with it much. I started it up real quick and it did have a lower grumble and a little bit louder. It sounded good. I was excited this morning to try it out on the way to work, but the forecast has it to rain later today, so I ended up driving into work. So, I'm kinda bummed and will have to wait to see how it turns out. I will then repost about my thought on it. No need to ask for pics, because it looks the same as the other guys....just a hole inside a hole. :D

Mmmm Hole....

Cant wait to hear someone do a drive by with it?

well i guess im going to have to go give this a try just to make it a little louder i can do a drive by but im unsure of how to post a video , maybe i can send it to someone who can post it for me ....i will returrn......

can't seem to find spot where it picks up less engine noise and more exhaust plus i'm using my cellphone(and i don't need comments about camera shaking/moving so much i know)

I will post for u bro

I will have to get the drive by video tomorrow , i do have one with it running though and revving it up if you want to post that , just pm and ill send the video from my phone ,

My two cents on this - I notice its much louder on the low end in the lower rpms but i cant quite tell about higher rpms .....when i first started it i noticed some popping but that did go away , I think this is worth it to do if you dont have the money to do a full exhaust , but i think i still want to weld the bigger tip on as well just to make it a touch louder .

**my disclaimer** this was done on butt and ear dyno only anything you decide to do is on you and only you.:thumbup::thumbup::steve:

I don't have a camera just a phone so someone else will have to do a drive by vid...

Has anyone done THIS mod but then welded on the tip WITHOUT cutting the bigger hole? I was thinking of just cutting the exhaust tube flush with the exhaust box and welding on a chrome tip. Instead of making a 2" hole saw hole like the other stock exhaust mod. Anyone?
