CF Vinyl Wrap

Just finished my undertail, last piece that I'm doing. Have to say it looks... a bit odd, the CF out of no where even though this time the threading/pattern is correct. Will post it up tomorrow if I have time.

fits the bike real well. nicely done

Looks good Mike! I bet the windscreen would look hot in CF as well...

OMG........... I can't believe I never thought of that!!! That would be an awesome way to get my windscreen pink without painting it!!!

Off to look for some pink sparkly vinyl wrap........ :cheer:

Wow -- gotta say, I think it looks great!

How was it to apply? Is it as easy as they make it look in the videos?

Ok so I got my fender done. Took my brother and I and I have to say it's a 8/10 of difficulty if you haven't ever worked with vinyl before like me. It's hard to get the vinyl on without creases or bubbles. Heat helps a lot! So since my brother worked with vinyl before I bribed him over and he had a hard time.

He said the stuff is good quality too, the fender being the hardest. He had to use it as 3 pieces, one on each side and another on top. So the pattern isn't matched but it still looks better than rash.

Used a blow dryer and exacto knife with a credit card an soft side Velcro on it. Finished it up by using a lighter and "melting" it a little.

Next up is my under tail

Easy as they make it in the video? Nope, like I mentioned it's hard to get it smooth. Some of the air bubbles wouldn't go away so my brother use the exacto knife (we didn't have a needle) to make a small hole so the air can go out and we can smooth it over. Another good thing about this vinyl is that it unwrinkles with heat, and stretches with it too.

Overall I spent about $65 on this project, which is an easy fix to hide rash fairings and they don't look half bad.

Here's BallistiK's R6 decked out in CF. I think the windshield is a little too much imo..

Hi all.

I'm writting here because i'm the owner of the bike on the first comment. hahaha I was looking for some information and i saw this.

I'm a vinyl instalator from spain. i work with cars and bikes.

I only want to say that the 3M vinyls are incredibles. Looks perfect and the durability is good.

My bike are wrap with black cf vinyl, white cf vinyl and black matt vinyl (front).
