Hi guys having some problems with my immobiliser, before anyone says that im looking on an advice on how to nick a bike i just want to say that i do have all the relevant papers and keys including the red one
Well so here is my problem I bought this diversion xj6 2010 here in UK they are fitted with immobilisers, the bike was in a crash and the headlight bracket bent badly and cracked the case for the IMMOBILISER and Im getting an HI TEMP error on the speedo, Spoke to a specialist and been told that if the immobiliser was smashed i would most likely get one of the 52,54 errors for the immobiliser and that the HI TEMP is usually caused by bad earth on the Immobiliser transmitter or the transmitter could have wiped out the ECU. Now here comes my questions and most likely it has not been tried before but i cannot even find Wire Diagrams for both of the models to compare. I read through some forums and I have seen that some people on their R1 and R6 just changed the transmitter for this emulator unit that bypasses the immobiliser. although they are only meant to be working on up to 2009 bikes I bought one anyway to try it since it was only £13 (yet to arrive).
so if that doesnt work im looking at getting another transmitter and getting it and the cdi flashed with my keys so it all works for around £300 or getting a whole lock set second hand for about the same and just replacing it all.
But here is another one just like people changed the ECU on all the models for the US spec ECU im wondering if the same is possible for the xj6 as looking at parts diagrams the ignition barrel doesn't have an immobiliser on it, would I also need the wiring loom ? If it is possible it would probably cost me around £130 for the ECU and Wiring Loom from the fz6r and putting that on my bike but even at half the cost its still a risk as I will not be able to sell it back here in UK
