ChUcK interview

I think I'm tipsy enough to give this a go.

What do you do for a living?
Just finished my B.A. in Chemistry. Now I fruitlessly apply for lab tech jobs at breweries and biotech companies.

How long have you owned your FZ6R?
Three-point-five months, going on 20 years. I plan to keep the RMS Displacement around for quite some time as it has already proven to be quite the road-trip machine.

What other modes of transport do you have?
Mah feet. I'm a biker until my body can't take it anymore.

I get the chance to ride my wife's Buddy 125 every now and then. I zip-tied a double-wide milk crate to the back of it, so it's like the minivan to my sport sedan. I like the combo.

If you could have any bike what would it be?
If I had to choose one and only one, it would be a KLR 650. I would need a dual sport with knobblies on it just in case of a zombie attack or the apocalypse. I just can't see the fz6r crossing any open country with gas cans and shotguns bungied to the back.

What are your hobbies apart from the bike?
Books. Terry Pratchett, Iain Banks, Ursula LeGuin, shit just about any sci-fi novel that doesn't suck.
Disc Golf. I think it's good to have a hobby that you can never be perfect at, keeps life fresh.
Apfelwein. Homebrewing for dummies.
Cooking. It's great to combine hobbies with survival requisites.

What is the best place you have visited on your travels and why?
Seoul, South Korea. I've been a lot of different places (thanks, Navy!) but the food there absolutely rocked my world.

How would you best describe yourself?
Chronically depressed. I think too much to be happy with what I see in the world. Thank goodness for MMJ.

What pets have you got?
I have a corgi named Lincoln. He's one lovable little dude.

Which invention in history would you most like to have come up with?
Geometry. How cool would it be to have every kid in the world learn your name when they are learning about the ChUcK Theorem of Right Triangles?

If you ruled the world, what is the first thing you would outlaw?
Religion. No offense to all you Hindis/Buddhists/Jews/etc out there, but you have caused a lot of grief and untimely deaths throughout the years. You can't all be right, therefore you are all wrong.

If you were forced to entertain us all at the Forum Christmas party - what would your talent be?
This is the hardest question of the interview. I tend to spend most of my time at parties as a kitchen fixture, so I guess I could make everybody ooh and aah with the pie dough recipe I have been formulating for a few years. Yeah, that's right- I keep and constantly update a lab notebook of recipes. I'm also extremely uncomfortable at most parties, haha.

Snow or beach?
Snow, I guess. The beach tends to be full of douchebags, but snow falls in a lot of different places so you're much more likely to find a nice quiet place to enjoy the outdoors

Windows or Mac?
Mac. It's pretty amazing that I'm actually able to take part in forum activities. I am completely computerstupid.

F1 or MotoGP?
Oh both, for sure. They both contain the absolute cream of the crop as far as internal combustion is concerned. MotoGP has a slight edge due to the motorcycley nature of the beast.

Which track or album rocks your boat?
If I had to pick one album for the rest of my life it would be Pink Floyd's Animals. However, if I had to pick a single song, it would be Queen's Bicycle Race.

What is your favorite film?
Haha, you nearly tricked me there. That's like asking me which pile of feces smells the best. Give me a book, I might actually learn something.

Meat or Veg?
I love both passionately. Except mushrooms, those freak me right out unnecessarily.

What is your favorite beverage?
French Press Coffee. Or a well-brewed espresso. Americanos are good too, I guess. Just as long as you haven't put any dairy products in it.

As a distant second, hoppy ales.

And finally, your number one rule in life?
Live and let die. It seems to be the only rule that I can't find any exceptions to.

ChUcK writing this interview ----- >
Haha, I went back and read it all again sober, and I stand by all that DrUnK ChUcK typed last night.

This job hunt is killing me, I'm spending way too much time surfing the forums! Anybody know a good biotech company that wants to hire a molecular spectroscopy specialist? I'm about to apply at Starbucks...
