Alarm arms when fan kicks in

I hooked up a passive alarm system. Brand Nady.

I didn't think I needed to hook directly to the battery as some connectors
had 12V even with key out. (although this may be the issue)

The alarm has three wires
+12V
GND
+12V ON (must be off when key is off)

I hooked the wires under the seat to wires that met those conditions. I mounted the speaker behind the chain on the inside frame.

When the bike turns off it goes chirp like it should.
The problem is, before I shut the bike off, the fan kicked in
and the alarm chirped and the system armed.
(The voltage dip must have triggered it)

Could someone mention the wire colors they used to hook their alarm up? :D
I'll start looking over the technical docs and see if I can make heads or tails of the wiring diagrams. Somebody save me.

Thanks.
Dan.

red to positive, black to neg. always hook positive side first with alarms.
