2009 IOM TT - just got back

Got off the ferry at midnight and rode home through the night. Got in at 5am. Had a brilliant time. Rode the circuit 4 times. 28 miles is normal speed limits but the 10 miles over the mountain is one way and no speed limits. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a speeding ticket, had to go to court to pay £150. 2 of our party crashed on the mountain. 1 of them is fine 1 is in hospital with concussion and a broken wrist - both smashed up their bikes. The TT racers are absolutely mental. The course is so dangerous and so fast. If you crash you stand a 50/50 chance of killing yourself. I'm uploading a load of video's but here are a few photo's for the time being.

The best bit is you are so close to the action. At one place we were within 2 feet of the bikes going past at 160mph:eek:

It all depends how you want to do it. It is possible to fly into Douglas but you need to book early and prices are hiked 100% for TT fortnight. From the UK you drive/ride to a port called Heysham on the west coast of england and take the ferry to Douglas which is where the start/finish is. It cost me £190 for the ferry and £90 for the campsite. I would advise to book everything early!

Thanks, Matt, for posting the pictures and videos! And thanks for the info on getting there.

One of the guys from our riding group was over there last year (not sure if it was his first one or if he'd been before), but he was just in awe of the whole thing (and this is a person that isn't easily impressed). I'd love to make it over there someday, so like blchandl2 said, this is now on my bucket list.

that is just what I need to know I think I may try for next year . but I say that every year . I have found a couple place's that rent FZ6's over there so I will have to see how it works out for me
