My brother has a Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate and it will idle with 100MB worth of unneeded background processes. Ending all those tasks speeds the phone up ten-fold. The phone only has 384MB RAM so any little bit helps!
Ummm....the Advanced App Killer is fantastic for Andriod. (Think Task Manager from Windows, but for your phone.) Really easy to kill tasks that are taking up to much ram, cpu, battery, etc.

I went 22 miles on the highway once after it started blinking. I was sweating the whole time. When I filled up, I put in 3.7xx gallons.
I'll get about 187 miles and the bar will then start to blink.

If the sprocket teeth are not starting to flare up and the chain still has its "chain like" tension, I would say it is fine. I check my sprockets every time I grease the chain... every 500-600 miles normally.
EDIT: Oh, what i mean by flare is the teeth bending...
