    Braided Brake Lines

If you really want to up your stopping power, change the front disc pads along with the lines. I also installed EBC Sintered pads and the stopping ability is way beyond stock - The stock pads are rated GG. The EBC Sintered are rated HH. I wouldn't recommend doing much with the rear which is...

    Braided Brake Lines

Galfer's are very good. Never used them so that's about all I can say. The Spieglers have a lifetime warranty and the ability to turn the banjo connector on the ends of the cables 360 degrees so you don't have to twist the lines themselves to get them to fit. Here's a link with video and...

    Braided Brake Lines

I just installed Spiegler lines for the front. They are thinner and more rigid than the stock lines so they don't move around much to rub against anything so I don't see a need for the additional protection. However, there are three hold down locations for each line that attaches to the bike...

    suspension mods anyone?

Race Tech does not have anything yet but they offered to have me send them my forks and shock and work something up. Haven't decided on how much I am willing to spend though.

    Hobbies outside of riding?

I also enjoy shooting, both rifle and handgun. I like to stay up on my skills since I have a concealed carry license and take a gun just about everywhere. I am also into fitness - weight lifting, running and yoga. I spend quite a bit of time during the Summer working on the house and...

    What would you do??

The right job for anyone is hard to find. Some people jump from job to job and never find it. Most people are not all that happy with at least something related to their job. It seems that there are some things that you do like about your current job. That's great! Also, there are other...

    Replacing stock grips?

Does anyone have any experience with both heated grips and heated gloves? I was wondering what the positives and minuses are of one over the other....

    Removing stock oil filter

I have found the oil filters are always hard to remove on the FZ6R. I had to get a filter remover that goes on the end of a socket wrench. I got it at Autozone. It fits over the end of the filter and has two metal clamp-like pieces on either side so as you turn it, it clamps harder onto...

    suspension mods anyone?

I've sent an e-mail to Race Tech to see if they have anything currently or are planning on having any upgrades for the 6R for both the front and back. Will post the reply when I hear something.

    New member welcome thread

My name is Lance. I am originally from Los Angeles but moved to the mountains East of Albuquerque, NM about six years ago with my wife of 24 years and our pets. Love it here except the riding season is only about 6-7 months out of the year. Rode MX and street in my younger years. Picked...

    Getting past the "Newbie" stage

What you're feeling is normal. I rode both motocross and street bikes in my teens and early twenties. I just started riding again about two years ago ( I am 47). Started with the MSF course and got a Yamaha V-Star 250 to start out on. Very easy bike to ride. At first, I was very nervous...

    Puig windscreen

I totally blacked mine out and it works great. It is pretty darn hard for me to get low enough to really look through the windscreen when riding so that was not an issue for me. I have also found that the blacked out windscreen eliminates the sun's glare from the gauges.

    Windscreens

I also painted the inside of the windscreen since other members had done such a great job. It turned out perfectly. I have the Raven so the blacked-out windscreen really enhanced the look. I also found that it eliminates glare on the gauges since there is no direct sunlight on them.

Engine Rattle / Loss of Power

The only thing that even comes to mind is that something got sucked into the air intake. You might think about opening up the airbox to see if anything is in there or if there is any obstruction with the intake hose. This will require you to remove both seats and lift up the gas tank. An...

    new rider/first experience

Those are nice gloves and the price is reasonable. I was also looking at Alpinestars, one of the GP line. I am waiting until closer to Winter when I am hoping to get a bargain on a closeout or super sale.

Whats wrong with my front tire?

+1 - How many times have you heard of a tire recall only after numerous accidents and deaths? I would at least have the dealer take a look.

    new rider/first experience

A pair of really good gloves is something that I want to get also. They are just soooo expensive, but you get what you pay for with a well known name brand. I wear perforated leather pants and jacket during Summer then switch to textile in the colder months.

    Airbrush Ideas....

Another option or at least to get some ideas, look into vinyl graphics at sites like ImmortalGraphix.com or Harrisdecals.com. Airbrushing, when done right is primo, but it is fairly permanent (and expensive). Graphic decals can always be removed which also gives you the option of making...
