Front shocks are linear, not progressive.
If you want progressive rate springs you could go with hyperpros.
Put em my wife's bike. She got the 30 mm lowered version, but you may not need that depending on your height.
check under the xj-6 model (Euro version of the FZ6R)

Let me know how it turns out. If you can stomach the expense your ride will improve significantly in terms of height and you won't "f" up the geometry. On the plus side you get a pretty purple shock.
Yes, it was just to show the lowered version of the buell lightning. they lower it by using shorter springs...just trying to point out that lowered springs are OK, and won't mess with your steering geometry if done front/back.
Don't be confused msgirle. The ride geometry will NOT, repeat, NOT change if you do the front and rear at the same time. My wife has over 1000 miles on the new springs and the bike handles BETTER. The new springs are progressively wound, they are improved springs compared to the stocks. The...
Stock front and and rear FZ6R springs for sale
I have a set of stock front and rear springs for a 2009 FZ6R.
Springs have approx 1500 miles on them.
No external damage.
I replaced them with a set of hyperpro 30 mm lowered springs for the little lady.
Will sell together or separate.
No...
She was on the balls of her feet, but not tiptoes before hand. This is what is seen in the first three pics (black pants). She was just shy of flat footed (jeans) after the new shocks. Probably a drop of about an inch exactly
Already added these as an external link, but I'll add them as pics too.
First three are stock springs. After that it's the hyperpro setup.
The last pic shows the lean angle of the bike on the kickstand with the lowered springs.
Ok,
Let me first say pics are on their way, but the wife is out of town today and she is the point of reference so likely tomorrow (Sunday)
Anyway I got the hyperpro springs installed.

Got the hyperpro 30 mm lowered springs in a few days ago. Bike goes into the shop on Thursday to put them on. I don't have the time or tools to do it myself, so it may get a little expensive. Should have the bike back by Saturday. I'll post some pics, cost and impressions then.
You can do it yourself, but be prepared, the bolts are tourqued tight tight tight!. You'll need a good ratchet, not just a hand allen wrench. Get some locktite (blue). No need to rewire or reroute the cables.
Since there is no rear rack available for the FZ6R as of yet, I decided to make a quick and dirty mount for a top case.
The top case is itself is a JC Whitney cheapo model - $90 or so.
I bought an extra seat from the dealer $160 (actually negotiated into the selling price).
...and did...
Just ordered the combination set of 30 mm lower springs for my wifes FZ6r. Actually they are for the XJ6, but it's the same springs. I'll post an update when I get them installed.
Belts have no driveline lash and are significantly lighter than chains. They actually transfer power better because of this. The zero maintenance is a big plus. Buell got it right and has been using them for years. The only reason sportbikes use chains is that you can change gear ratios...
As long as you lower the front and rear simultaneously, there will not be any change in the bike dimensions. Technically, you will be changing the rake and trail slightly, but essentially, it is like compressing the suspension by one inch.
why would you not want to use new springs? The Hyperpro springs are going to be better than stock. Granted they will be more expensive, but it will be a smoother more responsive ride for sure
