I sold my '09 fz6r a few months ago and went with a '12 street triple R.
At my age, riding position takes priority. For street riding, it just rips. The STR is too fun.
But I love the look of sport bikes. but it's not the type of riding I mostly do. Good luck finding the right bike for you...
Safety laws sometimes go too far, but some really do protect the idiots. (Kind of like the seat belt law - I was an idiot, now I am converted). So for me, for helmet laws is a good thing.
Interesting, on this site and a lot of motorcycle sites, there is always discussion about gearing up...
I had the lowering link and the stock kickstand. It was stable enough on level ground, but you are on any kind of grade, you have to be careful and tilt downhill. Otherwise it might fall over.
What I ended up doing is cut the stock stand about 1 inch from the bottom, grind it a bit and jam...
I was between the fz6r and a f4i before I bought the 6r.
Super bike. I still want it. Lighter and more power. Decent ergos.
The only thing was last year is 2006. 2003 for the split seat.
So finding an undamaged, low miles bike is harder. Seat height is higher, for me I would have to lower...
They look the identical and are 3 wire. The set came with mounting tape as well as mounting screws. So i thought I'd try the tape first...
(Hey - I have raven too! I've seen the signals sold in black, carbon, chrome.)
5ft diameter is impossible.
Calif is 20ft inner circle and 24 ft outer, and you have to ride in between them.
If you find a lot with parallel parking, the lines are +/-10 ft. Figure 8's in 2 parking spots.
Practice enough and you'll get it.
I hope you have frame sliders on..
I finally installed the alternate mirrors. The OEM, to me, just looked too tall.
I order the zx6r mirrors off ebay and was sent the wrong ones -twice! Finally I got what I thought was the correct ones. After the install I looked closely at the base I'm thinking these are not the pictured...
I just installed the lowering link. I had been riding and one-footing it, which was fine.
I got the roaring toyz link to make backing up, slow turns on slopes, etc. a little easier. It just more comfortable than being on the balls of your feet. I didn't want to mess with shaving the seat.
So...
I use reg unleaded. I don't notice any diff and even if there was, any fractional improvement it's not worth it to me. (Otherwise, I would be looking buy a faster bike.)
