I've tried this challenge several times. I have yet to be able to do it. I might have more success if I could stay away from freeway on-ramps. My other goal is to get over 40 mpg. I think they may be related.

I was able to test ride my new 2010 FZ6R before purchase at a dealership in Sublimity Oregon.

I got my FZ6R in October 2011 and have averaged ~35mpg from day one. I've been replacing filters, syncing throttle bodies... basically everything I could think of to try and improve my mileage. Hopefully it is just the same issue and I don't have something wrong with my bike.

So, I finally put on my "custom" TechSpec tank grips. I too, like others, didn't like the FZ6R-specific versions TechSpec provides because they are for the tank only (which I find only helpful when hanging off). In general, I'm normally only contacting the little strip below the tank...

I started by dropping it only 10mm and could feel a clear improvement with that. Now that I'm at 1", I'm thinking of backing it off a little (maybe to .75") and see if I can find a sweet spot.

I got a new 2010 Pearl White for 5,995 + a few hundred for extended warranty, registration, title, etc.
