What did you do to your bike today?

Well I've got a little over 1,000 miles on them so far. About 800 of which have been on long highway rides and I have to say, they are a step up from the Dunlop RoadSmarts for sure. The ride is smoother yet I get more feedback from the tires. The rest of those miles have been on streets or...

What did you do to your bike today?

Well, I've been off my bike for about a month while I recovered from surgery. Yesterday I went on a nice long cruise, and today took her out and put new tired on! Michelin Pilot Roads 3!

    Can't break 100mph

I am 20 years old, in college and working. Have a long term relationship but no kids, and I too think the "What if..." when I am running at higher speeds. The majority of my solo riding time is spent doing above 80 mph which I am comfortable with. But the only times I am willing to go above 100...

    Photography - Night Sky

Wow, those are amazing pics! I would love too...but there's the long ride I would have to plan out first.

    Saturday Bike Ride

Beautiful weather for riding! I was stuck preparing for a home project, or else I would have been out and about myself!

    Sprockets and chain

Just got all the parts to replace mine today. I've got driven front and rear leaning towards better highway rpms, and an EK chain as well. I've got a little over 17,000 miles of canyons and long highway rides on it, the chain in now showing wear. At 9,500 your chain should be perfect as long as...

    Engine Temps...

I got 216 trying to work my way to the left lane on the freeway. My legs sure were cooked!

    +1 up front = great!

Just got my kit from indysuperbikes, and due to a slight stock mishap that was settled over the phone, I now am getting driven sprokets +1 for both front and rear, long story. But we shall see how it works out! I've got nearly 17k miles on my bike with stock chain and sprockets so I'm sure it...

    How to install 12V outlet

I got the idea from someone else on here, just refined it a bit as far as the method for charging. This is it here, 12 Volt Adapter for Trailer Lighting Connector not very hi-tech but it does the job. Great security if you're out on a long ride and the phone is running low.

    Hid

Gotta love the difference over OEM. I was returning from a long ride in the deserts of Cali with my dad with his 07 V-Star, and we stopped in the desert to check out the views in the pitch black night. The moment we started our bikes, his light was drowned out by the overwhelming distance and...

    How to install 12V outlet

Awesome install! I went the lazy method, and just bought a 12v outlet that connects to the already present battery-tender connector. I just plug it in under the passenger seat and plug in a cigarette lighter charger for my phone or gps into it and leave it in my backpack or top box!

Fz6r gets Really hot around my legs when riding??

Sexiness does give off a lot of heat byproduct!!! All joking aside, you should check the coolant level. For the past couple years it only ever touched 214 during riding twice, then I saw a 219 while on a average hot day on a street. Turned out my coolant was low, filling it solved the problem...

    Mileage/Wear

I take my bike up to 500 mile runs on occasion, and I find that with slightly lower pressure than 36, the rear tire doesn't shed flakes of rubber. I got 8500 out of my last set of road smarts.

I swear I wish people would go to the CORRECT type of forum for advice....

I should start a bike "summer camp" where during the winter I care for the neglected super sports on the So Cal twisties and tracks! But seriously, I've encountered so many people like that, it is sad. It is nice though when you're able to straighten some out, or give prospective riders good...

What is your favorite vehicle to follow?

By far the best car that I have followed behind for wind was a 04 - 06 wrx sti. Clean airflow from that big a** wing. But then, nothing beats following a friend driving an RV, that thing was like a freeway patio for motorcycles!

    Start up fuel pump WHINE.

Im at 16,000 miles and have started it with the switch in either positions many times to no problems. You shouldn't have any problems either.

    Start up fuel pump WHINE.

Turn the kill switch to "ON" before you turn the key. Once you do that, the fuel pump primes, or what ever is the source of the noise.
