I went in for my 600 mile service this past weekend. My MPG's leading up to that have been 38-39 mpg (excluding what seemed to be a half tank when it was delivered).

If the bike ends up in some rain while your cruising around...is there any parts of the bike that need to be dried as soon as you can dry them? I thought I heard something about the rubber around the gauge panels but I could be wrong.

OK cool, thanks! I also wanted to ask a question. If I'm cruising down a long stretch of road, what would be the ideal rpms to have the engine at? 6-8 like you just said?

I want to be nice to my baby and properly give her the recommended break in. The only time I hit the 7k mark is on the highway when I need the extra juice to go around someone. ;-)

OK so I feel better now. I went 117 miles on my last tank. It took me 3 gallons to fill the tank. Most of those miles were highway miles.

E=nismos14;433378]I doubt that it was full from the dealer and you really have to assume it was not because there's no way to know. Since you only put $10 in now you can't get an accurate measure. What you'll want to do is do and full fill up, reset the trip meters, then run it till it's ready to...
I can't say the tank was full. It was the gas that came with delivery. When I filled it yesterday I thought I would have to pay a few bucks more to fill the tank so I'm not exactly sure that the gas I put in yesterday is made it a full tank. I forgot to reset the trip meter after filling up...
My fuel gauge start flashing so it was going into "reserve" so I drove a couple of miles to the gas station and put in $10. The credit card reader at the pump wasn't working so I just paid for $10 at the counter. I may have been able to put more in but I don't know because that was the first I...
I just filled my tank for the first time today. My first tank (from the dealer) got me a total of 65 miles. That's just driving around town, no extended rides.
