You're right, Alex. I was in the same boat as far as insurance was concerned. But one test ride on the Ninja 1000 was all that was needed to seal my mind. And as for ABS and traction control, again you're right, traction control is an added benefit. I could live without TC. But ABS is...
Hi Tony,
I did consider the FZ1. But decided on the Ninja 1000 as it scored on (a) ABS (b) OEM hard bags as an option with a single key - these bags can be mounted/unmounted in less than 60 seconds both (c) Traction Control (d) And it rides really well... Most importantly, I got a deal on...
Hi Tony,
I bought a 2014 Ninja 1000 recently. It was always my intention to buy a liter-bike. But, I wanted to give myself a year of experience on a 600 cc bike as I owned a Ninja 300 before that. A jump from 300 to 1000 would have been too steep. So, I gained almost 5000 miles of...

If you're paying 2.5%, you might want to think again about accelerating the payments. Instead, if you can find a way to (safely) invest and earn, say 4%, then you would come out ahead. Being prudent about debt is one thing (and I'm a strong proponent of that, just like you) - but there's...
Thanks, Marthy - this really helps in my decision-making! Now that that 2014 colors are out, I've a choice of 4 bikes I guess - the 2013 White+Red, Yamaha-Blue and for 2014 the Red+White and the Black.
ABS on 2014 FZ6R?
I'm really torn between the Ninja 650 ABS and the FZ6R. The *only* thing that keeps the 650 still in the reckoning is that it has ABS. If the 6R had ABS, then it'd be a slam dunk.
Does anyone know if Yamaha would offer ABS as an option on the 2014 FZ6R?
