Anyone have Givi E21 hard saddlebags on their bike?

givi e21 criminy, i have a set of E21 that i used on my old bike, but i couldn't find anyone who said they could be made to fit the sixer! i LOVE those cases -- they were the perfect size for traveling, groceries, whatever. So for this bike i blew the wad and got the V35s. they are honking...

Where to buy Airhawk seat pad?

airhawk seat i used an airhawk on my last bike. it made a world of difference! but be aware it will add at least an inch of height, which i personally can't afford on the sixer. and when you adjust it, they aren't kidding that you should go with the minimal amount of inflation that works.

    added givi bags

givi bag lights No lights, just reflectors. But they are handy in figuring out which bag goes where when i put them back on:) And i do take them off a lot -- the little suckers are chewing up my gas mileage! On windy days, i only get 40 mpg with the bags, versus about 48 without. i'm really...

    sunglasses...

built-in sunvisor I sometimes wear sunglasses, but most of the time I wear an HJC helmet that has in internal sunvisor. http://www.hjchelmets.com/ It's pretty nice; the visor slides down inside the main visor, so it won't get scratched (Unlike the Nolan version). It lowers and pops back up...

    Riding Jacket

high vis I know it's not cool, but I also know from experience that high-visiblity jackets greatly increase the chance that other drivers SEE you! You can get all-out jackets (I wear the olympia version), or high-vis vests to wear over other jackets. Either way, better to be seen. Sadly, the...

    Argh! It's the end!!!!

cold riding so far I've been riding in the 20s and 30s, and doing fine with the liners in my motorcycle pants and jacket, winter gloves, and a fleece neck thingie. But the tires on this bike won't even grip on the mud in the parking lot, so I have ZERO FAITH that it would be trustworthy on...

    What honked/ticked/you off today?

ticked nothing that can't be remedied, and nothing I shouldn't have prepared for earlier, but it's one more hoop to jump through. Found out this cold morning that the battery harness is dual-pronged, and all my heated clothing is single-pronged. I'm liking this bike, but switching...

    added givi bags

bag width and racks The bags are exactly 36 inches across, which is about three inches wider than the handlebars. Frankly, it looks wider than that to me, but that's what the tape measure says. I photographed the racks sans case. Racks are handy solo because otherwise there are limited...

    added givi bags

width of bags i'll measure them tonight and get back to you. i can tell you they stick out just a tad further than the mirrors. wiiiide is right! they come off super-easy, though, which is handy, because i take them off when i just want to ride (and go with a soft fanny pack and tank bag)...

    Break In Period

break-in period so, i'm hoping insurance people don't access this website. . . :) just so my insurance person knows, we aren't all riding this bike in the three-digit speed zone! :D

    added givi bags

I think someone already posted these bags, but i couldn't find the original thread, so i've added mine. I got the V35 bags (all black -- there is a black and gray option) from sport touring (Givi Monokey V35 motorcycle side case, luggage, hard cases). i'm not a savvy shopper -- can't remember...

How much do you pay for Insurance?

insurance costs i thought i was getting jacked when my insurance company raised my rates 700 bucks per year when i switched from a 2003 beemer to the fz6r. then i called around for quotes -- AAA and others won't even carry this bike!!! i told them i'm a plump, gray-haired 46-year-old woman...

    Lowering links & short kickstands

lowering wonderful news to lower the bike a bit. i'm on the balls of my feet, and can go flat on one side or the other, but 1.75" will make it a dream fit for me! Plus, for long trips, i can pull out the old airhawk seat cushion, which is super comfy but adds over an inch to reach the ground...

    6 month upgrade $

costs i've only had mine for two weeks, but there won't be a lot of upgrades as my insurance has been raised SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS (Michigan, no-fault insurance). . . i think it's time to go insurance shopping. But seriously, that's a bite out of my "upgrade" budget.
