Hey guys. I've been working with Admin on a little side project. I'm happy to say that, while it's still very bare-bones, we now have a wiki to maintain a lot of the information surrounding our bike and our hobby in general. I have a how-to on oil changes set up, along with templates for the how-to's including an infobox header, tip highlight, and warning highlight.

As content grows, we can create more templates and adapt the layout to accommodate how we find best to use it as a community. The idea behind this is to have how-tos and other articles that the community can keep updated and corrected as the need arises without having to call the OP's attention to it.

See an error? Correct it. Have a neat tip? Add it. In the future if Yamaha changes the FZ6R up like most bikes have seen over the years? Note the differences.

Just skimmed through and it looks like it's going to be a great resource. I especially like the difficulty, cost and requirements summary block.

Just curious, how is image hosting handled? It would be a shame to lose images there, too.

Also is the search function going to allow boolean operators? I tried a test, but with only one live page to search for, I'm not really sure.

When visualized as a one-stop, with how to's and images for everything from fairing removal to checking oil, to HID installs, it's easy to see how very useful and informative a resource it could become.

As of now, there's only the How-To on an oil change, under How-To maintenance, to sort of showcase a how to. Until I locate my camera, I'll have to hold off on pictures for it, but as its open to public editing, any of you can upload illustrations to it.

Pictures are handled through the file upload form linked on the navigation bar. Unless the server has some pruning thing I'm unaware of, the pictures will never go away. The search is the same as Wikipedia as it's using the same wiki engine.

Haha. I think that can be saved for the forums. Any of that crap going on in the wiki, I would hope most of us are mature enough to keep objective; Though maybe I have to make a template for controversial topics like Wikipedia uses.

Found it! I didn't click on the Maintenance link after going into the How-To section. Yes, I admit I'm a :tard:

you need to change 2.96 US gal to 2.96 US quarts... and 2.64 US gal to 2.64 US quarts as well...

you don't want people posting up that they followed your guide and put 3 US gal of oil in their bike and now it's f'd up... just saying...

2.96 US quarts = 2.80 liters

2.96 US gallons = 11.20 liters

no access here either, get an error. Is this just temp. down or was it removed? (hope not). Would indeed be awesome to have a area to EASILY find all the how to walk throughs etc.. not needing to do a search.

Glad to see it got fixed. I think we're still trying to sort out issues with spam-bots. I need to do some more research into what needs to be added to restrict editing to approved accounts. The best course would be if I could find a way to have the wiki accounts automatically created and linked to our forum accounts and pass the info along to our Admin. If any of you are savvy that way, feel free to help out on that. This is a community project.
