Not sure if it's really my mod, but I figure I'll put everything at the same place. As some of you know how I do things... I'll go all out and do the airbox mod the right way.

I did try the 4 short velocity stack and felt a noticeable improvement. So after few test ride I decide to take the plunge and order a complete set of those. Should be here within the next 2 weeks.

Velocity Stack 32mm ID x 120mm Long (TAPERED) - 1.6mm Gauge Ali

While I'm there I will use the spare airbox that I have. I did order some heat reflective tape to isolate the heat from the engine to airbox. (If I have some left over I'll do the bottom of the fuel tank too)

Still not sure to go ram air or not. I don't think i will have any effect at the speed I'm driving usually. But the cold air might not be a bad thing...

Little bit of facts... about ram air. Worth it or not. Seams from reading few article that it does have advantages... but pressure build up comes around 80+ MPH.

After looking at the 32mm stacks your speaking of I'm curious, very curious. What r they? Do they go in place of the air box? What do u use to filter the air and my other question is will they fit under the gas tank? Thanks for your time on this matter.

I believe (marthy correct me if I'm wrong) that this new v stack will fit inside of the stock air box thus using stock filter set up. Marthy did mention that they may need to be cut down.

So, I'm guessing that you have to order 4 of these from the link you sent or is this a $32 purchase? If it's $32, I am sooo jumping on this! BTW what does an extra airbox cost in case I don' t like how noisy it is after I poke a bunch of holes in it.

$32 a pop + shipping. More like $155ish. for the set. Still a decent price I think.
 
Just a little in sight here, over on the Busa boards, years ago this was tried in several different bikes.
As for the stacks, on a busa we are able just swap them out with other OEM ones, either long or short!
As for the heat, what seamed to work the best, but with very little Hp increases was the bottom of the box.

And then there a several air box modifications either a small mod or a large mod.
Both have benefits, and need correct tuning!

But what ever is done there can be a good outcome!

Martin sorry for the delay getting back to you but I have been interstate. If you order 30 or more in one order I would be able to offer a 10% discount plus I would cover the freight cost to the US. I would require approximately 10 working days to manufacture.

I will get the heat shield tomorrow. Can't wait to get everything together!
 
I received the heatshield this afternoon. Now I remember how much of a PITA it was to work with. When everything is flat it's ok, but on something like the airbox... I did the best I could. Plenty of wrinkle but it's insulated. It took the whole 2 sq. ft. i ordered. Dang!!! At $30 per sq.ft I was hoping to have some left over... Ah well, it's done. Waiting on the velocity stack now. Should be here next week.

Notice how I cut off the bottom on this one. If you look under the headlight you can see the hole that bring air to the airbox. I cut it at a angle so it bring fresh air directly to the inside of the airbox. Not hitting hit...

This guy will wrap your air box for you... :eek: Expensive haha. Pretty hefty HP gain numbers claimed as well.

Going to swing by NAPA or Autozone and see what they got on the cheap.
