Free Banana (XJ6S) Seat

Good news peeps!

If anyone is interested I have an XJ6S banana seat to give away!
Original condition only used for 12months

Local pickup only -as Aussie freight is shite
If you want it freighted you organise and pay

Looks like I am heading back to SoCal around June if any SoCal users are interested it will fit in my luggage for whomever is willing to pick it up from where I stay!
PM if your interested, full details are yet to be finalised

Pic of seat when in on bike, below photo was taken just before it was removed from the bike and has been stored in my garage cupboard ever since.

Sorry for no reply, I hadn't noticed the thread trail.

I will be staying around Anaheim way, should be there in April

...and yes I can bring it with me if you want it

Thanks to Bert's generosity I now have my Banana seat! I like!

Maybe now I can gather the cajones to mod my passenger seat and if it goes bad who care I have another seat!

And I can set one up for touring

It will be a little unique as well.

It has to be more comfortable, the xj6 seat is round instead of having that tailbone obstruction like the 6r has.

Plus even if you screw up the passenger seat modding it, it won't be very hard to find a black piece of vinyl to replace it with.Might as well try it

Bert thanks again!!! really handy to have the spare seat!!!

now...

Warning to anyone who is interested in istalling a bannana seat on the FZ6R!!! - not a huge deal but a must know beforehand.

so as I followed Bert's very good instructions thanks again. I realized the out FZ6R latch cable is shorter then the xj6 Bert had to loop excess cable around itself to install the FZ6R seat, I on the other hand did not have enough cable to move the latch to the further rear location.

I had already commited to shipping my seats!! so in the meantime while i get my seats back I removed the cable key location and relocated it on a temp basis. it looks crapy sticking out but ill live with it for a few weeks.

if anyone was to want to install the seat permanantly you would need to find a nice location to cut 3 holes and remount the key OR you could order a latch for the XJ6.

You have been warned! lol

To replace the cable with the correct length, the part number for the XJ6 is below
20S-2478E-00 Cable, Seat Lock

Places to try for part,

Failing those, cheap alternative
Could you try a brake cable from a bicycle?
It looks to me that the cable is a simple steel weave with a swage at each end!?
 

Ur right bleedinblue also suggested extending my cable

That may be the best option but its not permanent so it's okay for now
