Cleaning your visor?

I searched expecting to find a dozen threads about this, but other when one thread about how nice a clean visor is, nada.

So best method?

Micro fiber cloth and water. My visor is tinted blue and regular paper towels scratch it. I just use soapy water then rinse with water and wipe dry.

I carry a cotton towels and spray bottle that contains a mixture of dawn dish soap and water.

Most of the time I just clean before and after a ride at home. But occasionally when the bugs are real bad...I use the mixture at breaks on the ride.

Its that thing you only do during spring

I try to pledge my visor before every ride.I have a first aid kit in my saddlebags so I put some anti fog wipes in it for an emergency clean

I was going to suggest that. Best thing that I have found is pedge. They have fancy cleaners, but they aren't worth all the extra money. Def. use a microfiber cloth, it helps.

A ride of any length down here means you're cleaning your visor multiple times...

I carry a microfiber cloth, and Professional Lens Cleaner from Walgreens. It won't harm coated or tinted visors, and works quite well... Designed for optical lenses.

That was my thread about the joys of a clean visor. There really is nothing better. I use Windex and paper towels at home, whatever I can get my mitts on when I'm on the road. Wet naps from restaurants, Windex wipes, squeegee and papertowels at the gas station, the back of my sleeve and some river water, whatever I can find...

ive never used pledge, but i have had good success with the "free & Safe" version of windex...I cant remember their little marketing nickname for it though.

I use hot/warm water and a cloth or paper towel. I have never used any type of cleaning solution. I am not opposed but water works and is cheaper.

I will use warm water and dish soap at home to clean inside and out, then polish the outside with Pledge and a micro fiber cloth. While out riding the Pledge makes the sticky carcases come off a little easier at stops. I keep a Muc-Off cleaning spray and micro fober cloth under the seat and clean at each stop. After my ride on Sunday im actually seriosly thinking about tear-offs. This time of year in our canyons is so bad with the bugs. I litterally had to stop in tye middle of nowhere to clean because i just couldnt see through the carnage. My poor bike was sticky with guts when i got home lol. And i really need to clean my leathers now. Only issue with tear offs is what to do with them. Cant just toss them like at the track.

+1 on the Plexus. It is good stuff. I use it at work on golf car windshields. On my visor I use quick detailer and a micro-fiber rag.

Been using water and p-towels for last year. My visor still looks like the day I bought it. Bug guts wipe right off.

Add me to the list of plexus users. Stuffs expensive, but I've yet to find anything better.
