Ok great. I have received reply's from everybody now regarding the group buy with the exception of talanthalus.

J man is staying with his current choice of 17/46

@Devmani - Give me a call, I think it should be OK since we are not just placing 1 order with Driven anymore.

For everybody that is waiting and paid with credit card (not PayPal) we will have to charge the credit cards within the next couple of days or so. We only have a limited time for the authorization on each one to finalize the charge since the orders were originally placed on the website, or it drops off and we are unable to charge.

Regarding the delivery estimates given on the website, those are not accurate. They would have been accurate if we processed the orders the same day that they were received, but since we were processing all of them at once the dates no longer became accurate. We are mailing all of them with USPS 2-3 day Priority mail, you can use the tracking #'s we send you to see the estimated delivery date.

Thanks again to everybody for being so understanding, I am genuinely sorry for the availability issues with the sprockets from Driven.

Call his number, and talk to him. It may not be too late. Don't waste time, though. I don't know if they are there on the weekends, but I'd leave a message. Then call again first thing Monday morning, Pacific Time. They open at Ten AM, their time, I think.

Myself I am unable to answer this question. However, you might want to clarify it in terms of if looking at -1 front or rear, or both.

I am sorry, that was a typo. Those 6 people are waiting for the 46T sprockets, you are correct.

-1 in the front is equivalent to +3 or +4 in the back. A -1 in the front, and +2 in the rear will help the bike get up and go much faster, it provides more torque to the wheel, making you accelerate faster. This is a common choice on bikes going to the track that need to put power down instead of worrying about top speeds.

Only problem i had with the -1/+2 setup was youre shifting three times as often. I actually had that setup on the bike at Chuckwalla the first time i went there and it was bad. Back to stock gearing after a couple of sessions and i sit in 3rd most of the lap and kick into 4th only on the back and front straights. This bike seems to have a pretty close ratio gearbox to begin with. Throw super short ratio sprockets on it and youre shfting from 3rd to 6th on a track that a lot of super sports leave in 2nd, maybe 3rd the whole lap.

I'm reading this thread, and wondering what type of effect the set I ordered (17t / 47t) will ultimately have in terms of torque, acceleration, shifting, top speed, etc...

I'm assuming acceleration and top speed will be about the same (perhaps a slight dip in 1st gear acceleration, and maybe a touch more top end). I know it'll bring the speedo a couple of mph closer to accurate. How about torque and shifting? Any comments?

After lots of reading, I determined that a 16/47 would be nearly stock, with little noticeable difference. +1 tooth on the rear equals about -1/3 tooth on the front. Speedo will change some, I've got to learn it all over again.

The 17/47 seems to be what the Freeway Commuters chose. Less bottom end torque, fewer revs at freeway speeds.

If my understanding is correct, adding a tooth in the front increases torque. Adding a tooth in the back drops revs.

Adding a tooth to each? I think you're looking at lower RPMs at highway speeds and a little loss of torque on the bottom end. I'm guessing here, but you'll probably notice the lower RPM at speed, and a very slight drop in how your bike takes off from a stop.

As for top end? I'm honestly not sure. I've only hit it once, and that was an emergency situation. Seems like lower revs would mean a higher top end, but you've added a tooth to the front as wel..... I just don't know.

The rear sprocket was heavier than stock. I don't like that. The front was missing that cool rubber-molded piece on each side. I'm not sure what it does, but I'm guessing it lowered the noise of the chain going over the front sprocket. I hope I don't miss it.

The rear sprocket was obviously designed to fit many different bikes. Different size holes all around. Some of the holes had an inset for a washer. Pretty cool, but those holes didn't fit the bolts on my rear wheel. The larger holes did. The insets on the holes I didn't use look pretty fugly. I don't like that, either. The backside of the rear sprocket just looked unfinished, so I had to put the side with the washer holes out.

The front sprocket has a rib around it on one side, that the stock didn't. I had to guess which way it went in. I think I got it right.

The chain is too long. I'm at the next to last nick on the indicators on the swingarm. I should have taken a link or two out. Tyler told me that the link count was set at the factory, and it would be correct for the bike and sprockets. That's OK. When the chain stretches, I'll just cut a link out and keep riding.

Overall, it's not an OEM. I'll suck it up and drive on. The price was good, and the name bespeaks good quality. My issues are honestly pretty minor, if I get a whole lot of miles out of it.

As always, time will tell as to quality.

I believe it's supposed to be a 118 link chain for our bikes (assuming stock gearing), but they may come with 120. I'm not sure how your 16/47 diameters might effect that, or my 17/47. I'll be counting the links...

I plan on letting the dealer do the install, along with a plug change at 12k, since I've never swapped sprockets (they'll let me look over their shoulder) -- and I'll check if they need to add the bits you mentioned.
