Have you ever been to Seven Stock Noel? I went once a few years ago, but Mazda has cut back funding for it due to the bad economy...

Nah, I never had the money or time to do it. One day I will

In all the years I've been a rotary engine fan I've only gone once. That year there was a guy from Washington who drove down in his mint, black FD. On the way, he hit a deer apparently, and his front end took some damage. But he kept going. Talk about dedication. lol.

Hope Mazda doesn't kill the rotary or morph it into some SkyActive hybrid crap that no one wants to buy... lol

The rotary is on it's deathbed, Mazda already killed the RX-8 and has slowed down the rotary development down to just one guy that draws triangles on a notepad for 40hrs a week. Mazda doesn't have Ford's backing anymore and things haven't been the best for Mazda. I don't think the rotary is coming back for a long time, if not ever. I'm sad. But I'll keep my RX7 for as long as I can.

Mmm. Good points, but I disagree somewhat still. But only time will tell.

Remember that the RX-7 stayed in production in Japan much longer than
the US... Mazda yanked it from the US mainly cuz ppl here don't understand or appreciate the car, and sales slumped. Same for the RX-8.

Also, there was a significant time gap between when the 7 was retired and when the 8 launched. When the 7 was retired, everyone said it was the end of the rotary too. But, Mazda never gave up and covertly working on the 8...

The rotary is a deep part of Mazda's history. Hopefully, in 5 years we'll see some new exciting coupe in the Shinari RX-9, or a re-introduced RX-7... Only time will tell. :)
