What does engine braking do to chain life?

So now that I know a little more about the chain pulling and stretching can some of you please school me and or throw out your opinion on this question.

Does engine braking cause long term problems with your chain??? or is it a don’t even think twice about it just keep up your chain maintained and replace it when needed?

Assuming that when a chain is designed/produced, I'm sure this is taken into consideration. I don't see any long term issues as long as like you said you keep the chain maintained. Now and unmaintained chain could be bad news, especially if the chain is kinked.

I'll start by saying I'm not the expert on this....

I'd imagine hard acceleration/braking is rougher on the chain than engine braking, and definitely having your chain too tight is bad...

Hard braking wouldn't harm the chain at all. The motorcycle breaks directly effect the tire in that instance.

Severe engine breaking or acceleration will damage the chain.

Just don't engine break any harder than you would take off and the chain will be fine.

This is about why asked the question. after looking at a few chaing mantinance vid they bring up the chain streching more in some section that others that can cause a slight problem and now add engine braking that compreses the chain. I was simply wondering if anyone had a strong opinion about this.
