Has anyone had any success turning the FZ6R in the garage or elsewhere using the kickstand? i am trying to turn my bike around in the garage, so next time, i could just open the garage door and take off. i hate backing out of the garage on my tippy toe and try to turn it around in my tight driveway. i saw people turning it around using the kickstand, but i am have no luck. If anyone have done that method, please give me some pointers. i feel the weight compared to my old CBR250 when turning.

**** no. I don't think Yamaha engineers intended for that kickstand to support the entire weight of the bike. You might damage something.
I've been doing that ever since i have my fz6r (10months)... i did that on my cbr250 too.
kickstand seems fine, only damage I've seem is my concrete floor so far.
just have to do it right and life would be much easier inside the garage :D

This is me actually turning my fz6r when I first bought it, it's much easier now with some practice but this gives you an idea

Great video! But I think the FZ6R is a bit heavy for the side stand.

put your front tire on a cookie sheet, then lift the backwheel with your strong arm and walk laterally for 180degrees.

that should work

Been doing it for years as well (although I am not as seasoned as some here).
I keep the bike in an 8x12 tool shed for the winter and it is raised so i just walk it up the ramp, put in on the kickstand, swing it around on the stand and put it up on the centre stand for the winter...I have heard of people doing the same with bigger bikes, depends on leverage and keeping the weight centred over the stand.

But I have thought that it would be nice to build a turntable into the floor of the garage to make the process somewhat easier.
