That most likely won't change the sound of the bike very much. It is most likely a visual thing only. The problem is the huge box, underneath, it quiets the bike down a lot because it has baffles, and it helps burn up the un-burned fuel. If cost is an issue, talk with Marthy. The full system on the 6R is really the only option...it is just which one. Good luck.

There is a slight difference in sound....but to me wouldn't be worth it, because you still have the unsightly "black box" under the bike, which with age fades to a lovely shade of grey & rust spots. To me, a full system is better, allows for more performance and sound. Still easy to install. Only suggestion is a long ratchet extension for the torque wrench.

That's the one I'm planing to buy for my bike. Can't afford a 1k two brothers right now.

And I have a 5 year warranty on my bike. I don't feel confortable installing fuel controler. The dealer may give me bs story and void my warranty.

Just don't like the looks of it. That bend on the pipe turns me down.

before I spend $235 for a welded piece of pipe... I'd get with Marthy... you'll get an actual exhaust. The money you save will cover the fuel controller.

and no shop can void your warranty just because you install a fuel controller, unless you mess it up (no one here has had an issue)... plenty of threads on here about shops trying to scare people away from things citing it will void the warranty... it won't

They design these because there are people out there that will buy it because it is only $235, which is way more attractive than $1000, not realizing that it is strictly for show, it will do nothing more. I agree on this, at least get with Marthy, he can hook up an exhaust cheap. Fuel controller is definitely not going to void warranty as long as it is tuned properly. Really hard to mess it up when it comes with step by step instructions.

I can careless about performance.. still a noob and don't want a super ultra powerfull bike. just need a louder noise. (or maybe I just stop being cheap and get a marthy Exhaust. :surrender:

Yes.

All joking aside, they don't even give you much more noise. They are really just for show...and they don't even look good to me. Care about performance or not, exhausts look really cool, and then they sound cool. I believe that is why 90% of people get them. I don't think most people buy them for the performance....that is just a bonus. To each their own, but I don't like them, I think that they are a waste of money. When you have people like Marthy who are making full exhaust systems very affordable, the choice is clear.

+1.....I Have a Marthy Viper Exhaust and PC V and love it is worth saving for you could also go with his super trapp Exhaust which would not require a fuel controller...very easy to do.....or If you just want some noise with out spending money you go always go with the 5 min exhaust mod or welding a larger tip onto the large "Black box" but I would go the MARTHY route and stay away from useless slip-ons

Don't like the way the super trapp looks. I made up my mind. I'll go with the Marthy viper. Right before winter. I'm not gonna give up my bike for a few weeks now. I'm dying to hop on it and ride.

Marthy usually has at least one extra set of FZ6R or R6 headers on hand so he can send you the full exhaust. Then you send him yours when you take it off. No waiting.

that is a good idea. then you can buy an akrapovic shorty like for the gsxr 600 and have somebody fit it for a couple bucks or do it yourself

Exactly. Anything you add on to the stock exhaust is going to do nothing to increase the volume. Maybe slightly change the note, but if anything it'll quiet it down. Only way to increase the volume is to open up the air flow. There are threads about punching holes in the walls of the cat and things like that. But putting a real exhaust on the bike is the best bet if you're looking to change something. Marthy will get you the best deal you can get on a full system that performs well. I didn't go that route and wish I did.

This thread has me thinking. Make an exhaust tip extension using Dryer ducts and WALA, slip on exhaust tip......... that's what the leo vince looks like to me!

Hahaha.....I actually ordered this thing last week. I know it isn't going to give me any added performance or sound, but I think it looks a little better than the original end that is already on there. I agree it is way more $$$ than it is worth, but then again pretty much everything I've already bought for this bike has been.

This is turning into an expensive hobby...LOL

I spent like $1000 after getting it, and mine already had a lot done to it!! LOL
