So, I'm trying to find out if the FZ6R seat actually fits our European XJ6 Diversion F model.
I really dont like the original XJ6 seat, its just wayy too "touring" for my taste so either I'll have a custom FZ6R-like made or just pick an original FZ6R if it fits. Buying one than having a custom made for me I think its also cheaper.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know think it bolts right on, you might have to buy what's underneath but I've seen many xj6's with the 2-seat fz6r seats

Somebody else from the UK was on here trying to achieve this. He posted a thread somewhere???

Anyway, it can be done as the frame has spaces for the lock in two places one for UK and one for USA model. However this guy was having trouble as there is an extra plate needed under the drivers seat which is part of the moulded plastic on the UK seat.

Just a thought.

I think that was me ;) but i am from germany ;)

I got someone to try the driverseat without the plate underneath and he was kind enough to tell, that without the plate the seat will not fit properly. Here is the thread:

Yeah, one question:

You attached the driverseat without a plate underneath?

And: Look at this thread http://www.600cc.org/forum/f88/need-measurement-holder-under-passengerseat-21785/ I think, it will help you out ;)

So, I got my FZ6R seats today and mounted them on my xj6...

Fits nearly perfect in the lower position, not so good in the higher position... The black plastic plate isnt needed as much as I thought before...

BUT, new problem :D

There is a GAP between the two seats, like around 10mm wide. Its possible to see up to 4 screws and the battery...

I saw in a youtube-vid, that there is another round/curved black part (to protect from the rain, I think)...

You guys with FZ6Rs, what is under your seats, that protects the inner of your bikes? Pls pics :D

In my opinion you have to install the handlebar back on your bike.

It looks awful how far the backlight looks out of the rearend. +the little gaps for the handlebar... install it back ;)

LOL!! so..... I want a more touring type seat. You still have yours? I would like to see how to convert to the eoro version, I think it looks more comfy. Let me know if you think you wanna sell it or trade for my front and back seats lol!

well, here is a question, would I be able to take the "touring seat" from the xj6 and put it on the FZ6R? is it more comfortable for longer rides than the stock FZ6R....?
