under the fuel tank
If you look in front of the fuel tank, right below the handlebars there are two bolts, just unscrew them both. The fuel tank is on a pivot at the front of your seat so just grab the fuel tank right above where the bolts were and slowly pull the fuel tank towards you (as if you were sitting on the seat. You will see the air box when u pull it up. There are between 9 and 12 screws (exact # I cant remember) holding down the top part of the air box, just unscrew them and u can move the lid enough to replace the air filter. I say remove enough because there is a hose attached to the upper right side of the lid. Hope this helps.

Also, when unscrewing the screws that hold down the lid of the air box, be careful not to drop any of the screws... they could end up in bad places if you do, Just FYI.
