    Cooling fan modification

Sorry for such a late reply. I don't frequent this forum so much now as I've sold my XJ6 but my partner still has (and loves) hers. It was all done under warranty, parts and labour bearing in mind the bike was only a month or two old at the time. Dealer was Webbs Yamaha of Peterborough

    Weird turn signal fault

I have got a tail tidy, but it uses the OEM indicators. I hadn't seen the problem again until a couple of weeks ago with 8,500 miles on it now. Was in torrential rain on a dual carrigeway and the indicators stop working  Pulled over at the first safe opportunity to check it out -...

Where to get +1 front sprocket in the UK

Cheers for the info - I found Wemoto site but they only list standard front for the XJ6 on the website, different sizes for the rear. Did wonder if I could just order one for a different bike, they list +1 for R6. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Since you mention you've done this...

Where to get +1 front sprocket in the UK

Okay so I found a -3 rear sprocket which gives about the same change in ratio. +1F 17/46 = 0.369 -3R 16/43 = 0.372 Is there any reason why changing the front sprocket is preferred to changing the rear or should I just go with the -3 rear ?

Where to get +1 front sprocket in the UK

I want to put a +1 front sprocket on my XJ6 but I've not been able to find anyone supplying them. I've searched on Google, eBay etc for a source and can't find anything. Does anyone know where I can get a +1 sprocket or if a part for a different bike would fit? Thanks

    Is my tyre 'squared off'

Thanks for the advice guys, this is all new to me and I wasn't sure how far to let it go. I'll get it changed at the end of the month.

    Is my tyre 'squared off'

This is a photo of the rear tyre on my XJ6, it's the original BT021 with 7,500 miles on it. My question is does it need replacing? Its started to flatten off on the centre but I'm not really sure how worn it can go before it's time to replace it. I'd appreciate some advice Thanks Pete

Gotta have it - Daytona 675

It was GBP8199 on the road with a full tank of fuel and I was able to spec it with GBP675 of free options so I had gel seat, colour coded pillion seat cover, aero screen, carbon fibre tail pipe end cap, alarm/immobilser, padock stand bobbins and 'Pazzo' style adjustable levers Pete

How many miles on your bike?

8000 miles in 8 months, like Jon Kerr I only insured it for 5K so had to notify them of the additional mileage - premium was unchanged just screwed me for an admin charge to update the policy:(

Gotta have it - Daytona 675

Picked the new bike up yesterday - I only got to do 25 miles on the ride home as the weather wasn't great (patchy freezing fog), really nice bike though.

Gotta have it - Daytona 675

Well I'm keeping the XJ6 as well so if it does give trouble I'll just jump back on the Yam :)

Gotta have it - Daytona 675

Yes, it's the 2009 SE with the pearlescent white paint and blue frame. I'd had my heart set on the Tornado red but when I saw them side by side in the showroom the SE just looked way better. It's all bought and paid for but I need to wait until next month so I have a years no-claims on my...

Gotta have it - Daytona 675

Deal done. Went back to the dealers today and bought a new 2009 Daytona 675 SE with 675GBP of free extras. Pick it up next month. Hopefully won't have any issues with it but the dealer is just up the road and the Triumph factory 30 miles away so should be able to get it sorted even if I...

Gotta have it - Daytona 675

I'm going to keep the XJ6, it's still a great all round bike, good fun, fine for longer journeys and commuting. Just that I've always wanted the sports bike so the Daytona will be for a bit of fun, I've always liked the look of it and after todays ride I'm in love, the exhaust sound when I...

Gotta have it - Daytona 675

Went in to the Yamaha dealer today, mainly for a cuppa to warm up after a spirited mornings riding on the XJ6. Saw a Triumph Daytona 675 in the show room so I took it for a test ride - OMG  I couldn't stop grinning :):):):) Awsome bike, fuel warning light came on after 10 miles so...

Cyclists - the other OTHER jerks

I normally ride to the nearside when I'm out on my road bike but these days when I get to a blind curve I sit well out in the road and here's why. When you ride to the nearside traffic won't wait until they can see the road is clear, they squeeze round even though they can't see and inevitably...

Cyclists - the other OTHER jerks

Respectfully I ride a road bike (mountain bike and motorbike). I doubt they're doing 20mph down a hill. On my 17lbs Carbon Fiber road bike I cruise at 20-25mph on the flat, descending a good hill I will be doing 35-45mph. I can get round some of the tighter bends faster on my bike than I can in...
