Wow, haven't used that acronym since my MMO days.
Anyways, I'm located in Gwinnett County in GA. Selling my 2011 FZ6R with about 13xxx miles, going up slightly now that the weather is sorta shaping up. Mechanically perfect, cosmetically good. Full listing is here...
Welcome to the forums. Have any questions just ask, these folks are a great bunch. If only they'd consolidate the many many sections into less, it can be difficult to navigate sometimes.
Yellowraptor - if you don't have the OEM screws/bolts that you need you can either purchase them from a parts retailer piece by piece (partzilla, bikebandit.com, etc.) - or you can purchase one of those kits you linked. Essentially you will want a kit made for Japanese motorcycles as many of the...
Tom - updating the thread for others who may have the same issue. Thanks for the input - this does seem to be exactly what the case was. Since this post I have gotten the bike back in full running condition and it runs like a top.
Thanks BluePill. Updating my post for anyone else who may have this problem in the future.
Regarding the horn - it's fine. Doesn't honk unless the key is turned. :)
For the plastic meter cover I was missing 2/3 rubber grommets that slide on the pins to hold them in place. Just ordered...
Thanks all. I have had a bad habit of asking questions but not following up on them so here goes an update. Also, I need to log in and check this site some more lol.
It ended up being the clutch cable free play. I'm not sure if it happened during the low side but I noticed the lock nut on the...
I had a lowside a few weeks ago after taking a right hand turn top hot with cold tires and bad throttle input. Frame slider and rear brake lever took all of the damage as far as I can tell. I've noticed that in third gear if I crack open the throttle my revs increase but I'm not getting the pull...
Nice job. Looks seamless with the metal plates on the sides. Did you modify the handlebar at all? Seat position isn't really an issue on the high setting for me at 6'2", but even with the bars tilted as close to me as possible it seems like you'd be leaning over even more if you increased the...
I have a similar issue with mine. 2011 model with a 7 year old front and 5 year old rear. No dry rot, cracking, etc. Tread pattern is good, and similar to yours the chicken strips on the edges could feed a small family.
I just ordered shiny new T30 Evos because I'm a simpleton who misreads...
Yet another problem it seems - the horn! Seems everything is plugged in but I'm getting no noise when hitting the button. How to start diagnosing this?
Hey folks. I'm getting very close to having the bike road worthy. Waiting on some parts to come in and that's that - however, I have a slight issue with the plastic meter cover that sits behind the windscreen. There are little holes to pop them in place; however, there is no way to secure the...
Thanks again for responding. Had to deal with the hurricane this weekend and damn I'm horrible at checking this forum so no pics atm.
There isn't any smoke upon startup/idle, even when it gets to normal running temperature. The exhaust is stock; however, there is a slight rust spot on the...
Hey man, I appreciate it! After a few more beers and some experiments I actually got the majority of the body pieces on! I had those tappet screws all over the place, I just didn't know what to look for. The only issues at the moment fairing wise is certain pieces aren't sitting flush like I...
Hey again folks. Feel like I'm posting too often but I've no other resource to turn to trying to get this bike running.
This weekend I've started putting the bodywork back onto the FZ6R. I've noticed I've a tab broken off on the bottom left of the front cowling piece that goes over the...
Hey everyone. I'm reassembling all the plastics on my bike and have noticed that the rider seat has a bit of free play after installation. I've tightened everything and it appears that all the components are there; regardless, I can lift up on the lips of the seat and it will wiggle slightly...
Hey everyone. New rider here. I picked up a 2011 FZ6R about a month ago and have been working on getting it road worthy. I never thought I'd be into motorcycles or wrenching but a new world has been opened up for me recently. Looking forward to taking the MSF, getting my license, and getting on...
I'm not familiar with that aftermarket seat but the bits underneath should essentially fit the same. Focus on getting the rear hooks latched first - once in place you should be able to press down firmly on the front of the seat to pop the plastic insert into place and lock it down.
Hey Fraze - is this offer still available? I bought my bike used and the PO didn't have the manual. It'd be nice to have a physical copy on hand so I don't have to get on the PC. Let me know whatever you need on my end, thanks!
Edit: I have a 2011 year model, but I think the manual is...
