I got a Roaring toys lowering link.. I never did take a real measurement after the install, but I'd say 1.75" is about right. We lowered the front end 1.5" as well.
My 5'3" fiancée likes it. She can place both feet flat on the ground.
Doesn't seem to have any clearance issues or other...
Center Stand Part Needed.
Straight up, Does it work?
Edit:
So, I purchased a centerstand from a scrapper in Europe off of flee-bay.. But I realize now that he doesn't have the hook that bolts to the bike that the center stand spring attaches to. Does anyone have one of these??
Its #10 in...
Though... If you were to look into an FZ6, they are very nice bikes, and they sport just under 100hp!
I ride an fz6 (22,500mi) and my fiancee rides a lowered fz6r. Yamaha's quality on both of these 'budget basic' sport bikes is insurmountable for the price that they cost.
My fiancee came...
Try this:
Go for a ride, bring a small philips screw driver with.
Do your freeway riding, then pull over and take the windscreen off, go ride more.
Realize that the stock winscreen creates HORRIBLE wind buffeting. That might be part of your discomfort of riding at freeway speeds.
+1...
There have been members on the FZ6 forum that have fitted R6 cams to their Fz6.. and There have been members of this forum that fit fz6 cams to their fz6r...
Sooo.. through deductive reasoning.. an r6 cam could fit... maybe..
Not sure how it would run or what it would do.
My lowered kickstand sits perfectly flat, just like the Yamaha kick stand... Because that's what it is!
All I did was slice out a 1" chunk from the kickstand and have my buddy zip it back together with his tig = lowered kickstand without having to pay PSR $100 for something that sorta sucks.
All you need to do is pull the lowering link out and bolt the shock into the frame mount.
Raise your forks back up in the tripples if the fronts been lowered.
And youre ready to ride!
3 car garage, of which I get 1 stall at that place I rent.
All Crammed in:
