+1 on all of the above. I rode both SS and the FZ6R prior to purchasing the 6R, and I have to say, the 6R is much more comfortable for longer distances. Your back won't hurt after riding for 30 minutes, and you'll most likely come away with just as many smiles as with a SS.
I bought a new bike. Kept the FZ6R, and just upgraded to its big brother, the FZ1. I looked at a couple used, but I ended up getting a 2013 model new for not much more than the used were going to cost, so I figured buying new and breaking my own bike in would be preferable. I have to say, I...
I like your attitude! People are always worth more than stuff. Like it was said before, stuff can always be replaced. People can't. Not to mention, you probably earned a lot of respect from your friend based on your reaction.
I swapped bikes with my buddy once, because he wanted to try...
High was about 106F and low was -2F. I only took it out in conditions that low because I was feeling particularly depressed about not being able to ride.. Needless to say, I won't be doing that again :)
I agree with MistahT.. and I'm pretty sure that's why I love my bike so much. It's comfortable, and has more than enough sport to have fun on my daily commute.
A guy at work is trying to get me to start watching.. I would actually love to. Unfortunately, I just started school again this week, so there's no time left to myself. I still manage to ride, but it's mostly just to school, work and home.
Yes, the bike in the US is already derestricted. If you can rev over 6500RPM, then your bike is derestricted. Does anybody know why they have these laws in Australia, other than to "protect people from themselves"?
Those pictures made me sick! Sorry about your friend, man. I had the same problem when I owned a jag. I think it's that people get jealous and want to bring you to their level of misery, as was posted above. The jag was keyed across the hood, side of the car, and trunk, as well as having a...
Update: Got the light knight installed this past week. Haven't had a problem with a single light. I even took it up to the university to a light that I know for sure always fails to change for me, and I didn't have a problem. So, for what it's worth, the light knight works. It's pretty much...
Ivan, I wouldn't mind doing that trade. Although, it looks like we'd have to switch more than just the tank to make it a full swap.. Looks like there are a few other plastic bits.
I was looking at the light knight (Traffic Light Changer for Motorcycles - the Light Knight), and am seriously considering it, as I am constantly getting stuck at traffic lights. Has anybody used this device, and does it work? I'm also open to other suggestions to dealing with lights that just...
I just had my first sighting yesterday! Almost pissed my pants I was so excited. I was in Tooele, UT getting ready to ride through middle canyon, and while I was waiting to make a left turn, I saw a team blue go by. I waved real big, and he looked at me like I was crazy.. Then I looked down...
Got my 6R in the middle of May, and the FJR at the beginning of June. Between the two, I've put about 2,500 miles on them. The 6R is averaging about 52-53MPG, and the FJR is averaging 42MPG. I love the mileage and sheer fun of the 6R, but there's something about rocking to 60 in 2.8 seconds...
Definitely get two! I bought a FJR1300 this weekend, and I have to say, the difference is incredible! I have the FZ6R for the quick trips and when I just want to have fun, and then the FJR is VERY comfortable for longer distances and commuting. I do feel like a sell-out with the electric...
The bike's great! I'm pretty sure you saw, but I got a new one today.. I thought I was going to replace the 6R, but I just can't bring myself to part with it.
I'd have to agree with you there. I've had a 1989 Nissan Maxima, 2008 Nissan Altima Couple, and 2007 Nissan Altima Sedan. All of them were great cars, and just ran without issues, and I never needed to do anything except for scheduled maintenance.
