I'm bidding on a wrecked bike for the gas tank to replace my banged up one. I don't plan on spending anymore on the bike than what a new tank would cost. The bonus is I'll be getting a probably working motor with it. I have no use for it, but thought it might make a good base for an...
It's all a matter of how well you want the final product to be. Final Impact's method will give great results if followed properly. "Just roughing up the paint" is the bare minimum required to paint the tank; otherwise the new paint won't stick. It's one of those you get out what you put into...
Replaced the air filter, spark plugs, and changed the oil for the 24,000 mile service. Still need to change the coolant, and brake lines, but that can wait until after pay day.
After removing the airbox I noticed dirt around the intake seals, and what looked like oil where the intake flange...
The original poster of the pics would have to reupload them. The links are dead, that's why they don't come up.
Or, someone could take new pictures, and post them.
The parts estimate sounds about right. The labor is a waste though. It doesn't take much effort to remove the fairings, and drill a hole in one to add a usb port. A couple of people have done this here

1: The part numbers are different, and the '06 part carries a $200 price premium over the '09-'16 part. All FZ6R pumps are the same from 2009-present.
2: I'd wager that any of the FZ6 pumps should work up to 2008. The FZ6R was introduced in 2009, and uses a different pump part number.

That's the spirit. Just last night I came up on a car stopped for a fawn no taller than my knee on the opposite side of the road. I of course didn't see this until I was passing the car; scaring the fawn across to the other side.
I'm always going to plug my ammo can saddlebags. I spent about $100 in material to make them. I also recently watched a video on youtube about a saddlebag system. It looked pretty easy to use, and was waterproof.

I know going -3 on the rear sprocket fixes the speedometer. I think +1 on the front does the same thing.
I went -3 on the rear because the store I went to didn't have a part number for a +1 front.
I have may have just not noticed it before, but my fuel pump seems to whine quite frequently. About a 22 months ago I broke the throttle and handle bar, then let the bike sit for a year before fixing it last September. I rode it a little bit before winter kind of made it unpractical. Come...
