I just got the October issue of Motorcyclist and they did a comparison between these bikes. Here's how they ranked:
FZ-07
SV650
CBR650F
Ninja 650
I haven't read it all yet, other than to see the rankings, but they rated the FZ-07 and SV650 very high on the "Fun" scale. I'm going to...
Had a great track day last Thursday at Toronto Motorsports Park (Cayuga). It was an open day with no groups, so got in all the laps I could handle until the rain came around 3:00PM. Was lucky that there was a photographer on hand and they didn't require taping of lights. Made for some good...
I just learned that the FZ-07 (MT-07 in Europe) will be coming to Canada as a 2015 model. Not a triple as we expected, but a twin. Looks fun!

I couldn't find any threads that discussed/explained this. I installed Oxford LED rear turn signals, with resistors, while waiting for my Proton Flushmounts to arrive. The flash rate was fine with the Oxfords on the rear and stock on the front. Now, with the Protons installed on the front, my...
After I melted my stock Bridgestone BT021's at the track a few weeks ago, I decided I needed to get a set of higher performance tires that could handle 4-6 track days per year. A tech guy at the last track day suggested either Michelin Pilot Power Pures or Pirelli Diablo Rosso II's. After much...
I went to a track day yesterday and discovered the limits of the stock BT021's and the brakes. I was going to go with new sport tires, but I had so much tire left, I thought I'd see how they held up. With my Race Tech suspension, heavier fork oil, and FZ1 bars, I was able to push the tires to...
Are there any Canadians out there that have purchased the Ride It Forever levers from Powtec Motorsport? I'm curious as to whether there were any additional charges when you received them and, if so, how much.
Thanks in advance.
I gotta say, the more I research the effects of different performance mods on the FZ6R, the more I am convinced that windshield, bars, tires, and suspension mods (springs, shock, or lowering front end) are the only ones that give you a noticeable performance improvement. The windshield is...
If any of you Canadians are looking for a good source for mods, I highly recommend Blue Streak Racing. Tony is excellent to deal with and, even though his website shows mostly supersport and racing parts and accessories, he can get you pretty much anything you're looking for. I've used him for...
What does everyone think of these? Be brutally honest, as I'm looking for honest feedback before I spend the dough. Which one is your favourite, or do you think they all suck?
Went to the FAST Riding School yesterday at Shannonville Motorsports Park, just outside of Belleville, Ont. The owner and course instructor is Michel Mercier, 3 time Canadian Superbike Champion. One of the the track instructors was Andrew Nelson, who ran in the '09 World Superbike Championship...
I see quite a few pictures of bikes on swingarm stands that are not being worked on. Are the swingarm stands stable enough for storage? I worry that the bike could roll forward off the stand if bumped. I just got my stand and will use it whenever the bike's in the garage if it's safe enough.
Just bought a pair of these. I wanted textile pants with hip and knee protection. Also liked the idea of the overpants because I can easily slip them on over the dress pants I wear to work. Haven't ridden in them yet, but they seem great. I like the style. They are fairly low in the waist...
