I don’t agree with the tech. You need to tune the bike or get a map and run it through either a fuel controller or a PCV. However, a better option would be to get the device mentioned above installed on your bike and then go to the dyno and get it tuned for its own map.

Thanks for posing guys, that does add some peace of mind. I drained a little oil out and have since been watching it like a hawk and haven't noticed any new increase in oil level.
Ok, so I've done a bunch of oil changes on my bike and I am meticulous about making sure its topped off right on the line. I've put about 300 miles on the bike after the most recent oil change and after riding it the other day, I noticed oil at the drain bolt (just a tiny bit) and oil at the oil...
I would say it’s a battery issue. I’ve had a couple very strange issues with my bike in the past and both times it ended up being a battery problem. One time the battery was low in voltage and the other time the terminals needed to be tightened.
Thanks for the input guys. I've ridden my bike hard from time to time but it's nothing regular. I did remove the valve cover on it back in May and the timing chain was nice and tight so I think I'm good on the tensioner for now plus I don't have any initial racket other than the clutch basket...
To you guys who are mechanics and/or have higher mileage...when should I perform a valve adjustment? I got just over 10k miles on my 09. Manual says 20k+ but is that realistic? I think it should be done sooner...thoughts?
Yes that is the correct number. Installation is easy. Run it from the rear seat and through to the fuel injector plugs from the wiring harness. It’s all just plug and play. After that, you just need to hook up the pcfc to a laptop via USB and then upload your map to it and that’s it.

You really should at least get a power commander fuel controller. I use that myself and run both Marthy's sport map and the 2 bros map from PC.com (as recommended by their tech). Without the pcfc or pcv, you'll be running lean = not good.

Mine just started doing this where I would start it and it would die in 2 seconds. Would stay it again and it would happen again. Third try it runs fine. I change my fuel map which I’ve been running for a couple months now without any issues back to stock and it fires right up.

Lol, the paint does add on a few hp! When painting the satin black on, I wet sanded it between 3 coats. I then used 2000 grit sandpaper on the final coat and wet sanded it very lightly to smooth it out. Once it dried, I applied satin clear coat over it to protect it. It worked out very well but...
After seeing what you did with the tail, I went ahead and did the same thing. Absolutely love it. Primed, wet sanded and went with a satin finish but after so much wet-sanding it looks semi-gloss.
