i don't ride without earplugs. makes longer rides and even short ones so much better. i use the disposable foam ones. tried the custom fit ear plugs and those weren't as comfortable under my helmet nor did they block noise as well. ironically i have bluetooth speakers in my helmet, but even...
finding that pcv is an awesome easter egg. since you already have the full exhaust you're ready to load up marthys map. the only other thing i would suggest checking for are block off plates. eliminates exhaust popping noises on deceleration. who knows, that might already be installed. easy...
bike developed a very noticeable ticking noise from idle through the rev range over past 100 miles or so. took the fairings off to try and narrow down origin of the tick. while looking everything over and listening intently i noticed a nut had worked it's way completely off one of the headers...
sounds like a tough decision, but i understand. giving up riding for good or just taking a break for a while?
if you do consider getting back on, having life/health ins can help with some peace of mind. something you should do anyway with a growing family.
really like how the paint pops on...
chin curtain absolutely helps cut down wind noise. i remove my chin curtain during the summer for better ventilation, but when it got cooler i put it back in to block the cool air. immediately noticed a difference in reduced wind noise. it does make the shield more prone to fogging, but the...
gonna be hard to find a relatively quiet helmet in that price range. my shoei gt air is quieter than my hjc but not very significant. i still wear ear plugs to dull the wind noise. even with the plugs i can hear other road sounds just fine, but they definitely make a difference and save my...
indirectly related...i'd suggest either a bluetooth kit for your helmet or a long enough cord to run from phone to ear buds so you don't have to look at your phone for navigation. stay safe!
i'm usually sitting on my bike when filling up so it's already upright. i never put the spout all the way into the tank, usually have it about an inch below the tank ring. pump still cuts off once it fills to the top. i get a little over 3 gallons if i fill up this way after f trip comes on.
be careful with your use of the rear brake when it comes to panic stopping. the rear sliding around is the last thing you want to happen. the front brake should do the large majority of your stopping with panic breaking. in my experience i barely use the rear brake at all at speed, you really...
I'm surprised there's so much discussion around this. Maybe because I grew up driving a manual transmission car this seems like a non-issue to me. I basically shift when the bike needs to be shifted based on speed, rpm, and what I'm trying to do (overtake or just cruising along). Knowing this...
why should it matter what some other people think?
you'll find life is more pleasant when you don't bother yourself with other people's negativity.
