    Default New Bike, New height

    Hi all,

I am 6'1" and found the stock or "L" position to be ok for me but I did want to try out the "H" position and raised the seat up a bit. i really like the new height of the seat and it did not compromise stability or handling at all! It is a touch more windy at highway speeds but you can always slump over that tank and let the throttle wail!

In short IMHO 5'10" or taller go for the swap to "H" position as you will appreciate the legroom. (It's like getting bulkhead seating on a plane, you don't need it but it is a nice to have)

    Cheers,

What if you don't have this sliding piece? Am I missing out on the ability to lower the seat or is it at the lowest by default?

I bought the bike used and it didn't have it.

Pretty sure, if you don't have it, your seat is resting on the frame, I'd get one installed soon.

I've been on this site for a couple years and still struggle navigating. Is it the thread about your seat mod?

    Thanks!

Click on "advanced Search". Type in "Sti491" in the user name search. Hit "search"

This is one of them that covers ther increased seat height gap under the seat. There are other ones on seat paddling & cover, and Rox bar risers, Hope this helps.
